Honor Your Indiana Ancestors

Welcome to the Indiana Genealogical Society’s lineage societies! These societies are dedicated to honoring our Indiana ancestors and preserving their legacies.

The Society of Civil War Families of Indiana welcomes members who are direct descendants of individuals who served in an Indiana Civil War Union military or naval unit, or who were residents of Indiana upon joining a non-Indiana Union unit.

In commemoration of the bicentennial of the War of 1812 and Indiana statehood, the Indiana Genealogical Society has established the Territorial Guard Society of Indiana. Membership is open to direct descendants of individuals who lived within present-day Indiana boundaries on or before December 11, 1816.

Join us in celebrating and preserving Indiana’s rich genealogical heritage by becoming a member of one of our lineage societies today!
