Banquo Grads 1897-1955

Graduates of Banquo High School,
Huntington County, 1897-1955
Banquo is a small community in Liberty Township of Huntington County,
Indiana, not too far south of the Salamonie Reservoir. The town had its own
high school until the mid-1950’s, when it was consolidated into Huntington
North High School, which the area students currently attend. The Huntington
School District may have additional information on Banquo students.
A school alumni committee compiled a booklet, titled, “Golden
Memories of the Banquo School,” several years ago (date unknown). We
located a copy of the booklet in a local antique store, which was used to
compile the enclosed database.
The Memories booklet contains photos of all the students except for a
few of the very early graduates. For some reason a few early students are
listed in more than one graduating class; these events are not explained.
No graduates are listed for 1899-1901 and 1907. There is a class
photo for 1915, but the students are not identified.
We are indebted to alumni Jessie Stephens Kem, Herbert Grossman, Glen
Hewitt, and many others for preserving these class photos. This copy of the
Memories booklet has been donated to the Allen County Public Library
Genealogy Department.
