Gibson county

Historical Overview

Gibson county was organized in 1813 from parent county Knox. Named after John Gibson who was an officer in the French and Indian War as well as the Revolutionary War. In 2020 the population was 33,011. Princeton serves as the county seat.

In 1935 the Gibson County Courthouse was destroyed by fire but no records were harmed.
