The family arrived in Indiana about 1826; this was when William’s mother and two brothers were granted a certificate to the Springfield Monthly Meeting. The family lived in Green Township, Howard County. William and Melinda arrived at the Little Baraboo Valley Quaker Settlement (Wisconsin) in 1854.
