Children with Martha McJenkins:

  • Mary Ann (1840-1889) married William Klingner
  • Frances Marion (1842-1882) married Smith Kiefer
  • David Mack (1851-1912) married Gertrude E. Mayo
  • William Riley (1855-1856)
  • Charles Patterson (1862-1866)

In 1841, the family came to Jennings County, Indiana, living in Geneva and Vernon townships, until leaving the state in 1884. John Henry was in charge of the County Poor Farm in Jennings County for 26 years.
